Norvel Rohrer’s Healing Journey: Discovering God’s Provision for Healing is a personal testimony and spiritual reflection rooted in his own life experiences. The book details how Rohrer’s deep interest in health was tied to his career as a commercial pilot, a profession that required a medical certificate. This led him to ask a critical question: Would he inherit his parents’ medical issues, or could he trust God to keep him healthy?
Over the course of 20 years, Rohrer pursued his dream of flying Boeing 747's while seeking answers to his health concerns. His faith was rewarded, as he spent the last year of his career flying Boing 747's having touched down in more than 25 countries, after which he retired from flying to marry his wife and to attend Christ For the Nations Bible Institute in order to prepare for a higher calling. His journey became a blend of professional achievement, personal faith, and spiritual growth. He shares two key testimonies:
In his last job, he worked for 12 years and missed only four days of work in total — twice missing two days due to sickness. This demonstrated his long-term physical well-being despite the demands of his career
For most of his life, he wore glasses, with his vision once at 20/70 and requiring tri-focals. After years of believing in perfect vision, his sight began to improve about a year ago. Then came cataracts, and he was diagnosed as legally blind in one eye. However, after successful cataract surgery in both eyes, doctors were successful in restoring Norvel's vision to 20/20 without the need to wear glasses any longer.
The book’s message centers on trusting God’s provision for healing, embracing a covenantal relationship with Him, and living a life of purpose and health. It blends Rohrer’s personal stories with themes of divine healing, supernatural health, and spiritual renewal.
